Last night was the first old & new where I really wanted to just go to sleep and leave all the barbeque party, the fireworks watching, the enthusiastic crowd and the traffic jam.
Juliana is my since-forever friend whom I’ll be calling ’Ana’ from 2009 because we used to call her Juhu since forever and we decided that it’s time to be a real woman so we’re going to be gentle girls. She’ll be calling me ‘Ella’ too. Juhu - I mean Ana - were with me last night at Yessyca’s barbeque. We didn’t know almost everybody there so we decided to walk around the neighbourhood where they light up fireworks all night and it’s amazingly crowded down there.
We walked for about half an hour through the crowds and fireworks and noises and families and couples and couples and couples even more. The night was visited by several come-and-go light rainings. Juhu - Ana, sorry - and I ran out of stamina real fast. That’s when, again, we realized we’re not young anymore. And that made the calling of the name ‘Ana’ and ‘Ella’ make sense.
At about 10 we were exhausted. I wished I was in my bed. My head was heavy since the afternoon, when I drove back from hospital I had a thought of cancelling all the old&new plan but then it sounded stupid because no one wants to be alone passing the year. At about 10 last night, I just wanted to get out of the nuisance and get a nice long sleep I needed since a fortnight ago (when all the night shifts began). Oh dear, am I transforming to be a dull person?
00.00 a.m. passes just regularly. I didn’t even make a list of resolutions. No happy-new-year text messages, only replies to those who sent them to me. Thanks guys. Glad you haven’t lost the enthusiasm approaching the new calendar’s days. Will you share me some?
